I received my undergraduate degree from Stanford University,
and my medical degree from the University of Texas
Southwestern Medical School at Dallas.
I completed residency training in General Psychiatry at the
University of Southern California,
and fellowship training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the
University of California, San Diego.
I was board certified in Psychiatry from 1995 to 2005.
I completed advanced training in Psychoanalysis
and in Child and Adolescent Psychoanalysis at
the San Diego Psychoanalytic Society and Institute.
I have been in private practice in La Jolla since 1993.
I have held staff positions at Rady Children's Hospital,
the Chadwick Center for Children and Families,
San Diego State University, Vista Hill,
and other institutions.
I am currently appointed Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine.
I was previously a member of the faculty at the
San Diego Psychoanalytic Society and Institute,
where I chaired the Child Psychoanalysis program.
